This is Gaston Acurio’s hamburger joint. They use organic meat and artisanal bread. They wanted to serve burgers not as fast food but as a good quality meal.  I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. I had heard good things about it for a while, but eating hamburgers while in Lima was not very high up on my list. We usually pack our eating schedule with as much seafood as we can and food that I miss from growing up there.  But I saw this crab burger picture on their Facebook page and being the crab meat lover that I am, I was sold.

We had the crab burger and the charapita wings. You can have your burger with a side of fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings or baked potato.I loved their crunchy sweet potato fries. And forget the ketchup, the aji (yellow chili sauce) is amazing. The charapita wings are bathed in a salsa with chilies and fruit from the Peruvian amazon. We liked it so much that we ended up returning before our flight back to Amsterdam.  The second time we went with my mom and a friend and we shared a burger, two types of wings and the crispy pork with cassava. It was all finger-licking good.

They also have vegetarian burgers, other kinds of sandwiches and salads. So there is something for everyone. When you arrive you get some crayons which you can use to draw on the paper they use as tablecloth.

They have 3 restaurants in Lima and one in Cusco. They open every day from 12pm to 12am. On Friday and Saturday they stay open until 1am.
